GijinkakunCmdBlock

Keeping Minecraft commands under control.

I developed GijinkakunCmdBlock, a Java plugin that manages command access and visibility for my Azeria Minecraft server. It provides a configurable command whitelist, filters command suggestions, and alerts staff when players attempt to use restricted commands.

The engineering focus is consistent command handling and straightforward administration. A shared command policy normalizes command names, capitalisation, and namespace prefixes before checking access. Command execution and tab-completion filtering can be configured independently, while staff can manage the whitelist in-game.

Key technical work includes:

  • Command filtering: event-driven checks block non-whitelisted player commands, with bypass access for operators and authorised staff.
  • Controlled command visibility: filters non-whitelisted commands and namespaced aliases from player command suggestions.
  • Staff notifications: configurable alerts and sounds, with per-player cooldowns to limit repeated notifications.
  • Runtime administration: commands to list, add, remove, and persist whitelist entries, alongside configuration reloads.
  • Localisation and customisation: ten language files, configurable message colours and prefixes, and separate sound settings for players and staff.
  • Automated quality checks: JUnit and MockBukkit tests, SpotBugs analysis, Spotless formatting, and strict compiler warnings integrated into the Gradle build.

This project demonstrates my experience with Java plugin development, event-driven programming, permission controls, configuration management, and automated testing within a real-time application.
